So, this post just showed me how little i know about Billiards lol I don’t know the gameplay very well and haven’t played since using a small table-top one some years ago.

I never knew about the diamond shape rack.
I never knew billiard racks came in other types. The trademark black I assumed was just how the pieces were.

How expensive do billiards pieces get or run-for? Or does it depend on the brand, much like anything else?

Hi pennyDoth! I would to say thanks in providing a comment on this post. Yes, there is an additional (diamond) rack which is optional. Though I highly recommend and prefer the triangle rack as you form a diamond shape by taking out six balls after the rack. From my experience, I have only seen plastic and wooden type of racks. Since the birth of the internet, there seems to be countless different makes of them as well.

To answer your question, yes, billiards pieces costs by not just the brand, but the make of it as well. My guess is the more wooden the billiards pieces are made of, the cheaper it is. On the flip side, the more metal it has, the more expensive. I hope this helps, and if you have need anymore questions, feel free to send a reply to this response, and I’ll do my best to provide you the a thorough answer. I hope to hear from you soon!

      Cheers!

In my experience the triangle is often a product that is overlooked when purchasing your billiards set. The price almost crtainly reflects the quality and I am really glad that you havewritten this article to keep us all informed. Thank you!

I have been to so manh pubs, billiards clubs and friends houses where the triangle does not match up correctly with the balls and it can really have a huge impact on the opening break and consequently the rest of the game.

Hi Adam! I appreciate that you took the time to send a reply this posting. I never thought that the triangle rack was an overlooked product when it comes to billiards. In my honest opinion, I’ve thought that the black spots on the table were often overlooked.

I would feel that these racks would be an essential item to use and would benefit the pubs, pool clubs, and anywhere you see a billiards/pool table. Hopefully, you can refer people to come and check out this site, and I’ll help them decide the right items for their billiards/pool/gaming products needs. Talk to you soon!

      Cheers!
