The Ping Pong Play

Hi everyone! I hope that you are all doing well, as am I. For this post, it will be something quite unusual. I just thought I’d share something relating to the game of ping pong. First off, I have a question to ask you. When you’re playing the game of ping pong, how often do you play a “normal” game? Meaning to say, how much time do you use “not chasing” the ball after it has been hit several times during play?

On the other hand, how many of you do chase the ball while the game is hit during play? Well, I have something that I found on Pinterest that’s quite and true at the same time at least in my experience. I feel that this chart applies to novice and average players alike. Take a look at the chart below, and see if you agree.

Ping Pong...you just can't argue with this!:

Well, this is all I have to say about this game and thought that I’d share it. If you like this post, please share on social media, and add any questions, thoughts, or comments in the comments section below. I look forward to what you all have to say. Thanks so much for the stopping by. Cheers!

I’ve played ping pong many times and have jokingly said to friends that it feels like I’m chasing the ball more than I’m hitting it!

I don’t think it’s quite as drastic as your chart but it certainly does feel like I chase a lot.

One of the ways around that is that we use more than one ball, or you hope you have a spectator!

Hi Matt! Thanks for the comment. Ping pong is such a fun sport to play, yet the part about chasing the ball is what takes away from the fun. But, overall, I’d still consider the playing the game as I also consider it a good activity for burning calories. I think you’re right about the chart. Maybe 95% is a high number. Could 80% be more accurate? Hmm…maybe a spectator can dictate that. Anyhow, thanks for stopping by. Hopefully, the next time you play ping pong, you won’t have to be chasing the ball that much. Cheers!

I shall start off by saying that I am not a very good ping pong player but can certainly hold my own. Usually when I play a game of ping pong I am playing against somebody close to myself in skill level. Because of this the ball is usually staying on the table a fair amount. But I will agree that chasing a ball around the room after a point is quite obnoxious however

Hi Brad! Thanks for commenting. It’s ok if you’re not a good player at playing ping pong as I consider myself not a professional player by any stretch of the imagination. Though, I do find myself being “on a roll” sometimes which happens on certain rare occasions as I, too, can hold my own.

Wow, so I see that the ball can stay at the table while you’re playing, huh? I would consider you part of the 5% who don’t chase the ball while playing. That’s quite rare where it’s a category I wish I was in. But, no. I’m the player that chases the ball quite often. You are right to say that chasing the ball is obnoxious as I feel that it somehow kills the fun out of playing ping pong. Anyhow, I would like to say thanks for stopping by. Cheers!
