About Me

Armand Tolentino

Hi! My name is Armand. I’m your average guy who likes simple leisure activities whether it’s bowling, go-kart racing, or watching movies. My favorite recreational activity is shooting pool. I was fascinated by the game at an early age. Using a stick to hit anything when you’re a young boy is fun! I came to love the game. I am not a hustler or professional by any means, just a guy who loves the game.

I created the billiardsguy.com to provide people a place to come and find everything they need for the games they enjoy. I will also review many of the products so you can make an informed decision when buying anything on this site. In addition to billiards, you’ll find other game variations such as Putting Green, Texas Hold-Em Tables, dart boards, and many more on this site. If there is something missing that you would like to see, please leave a suggestion in the comments section below. It is my pleasure to help make your gaming experience an enjoyable one! Thanks for stopping by.

I am a terrible pool player, but I love playing, anyway. I have no control whatsoever when I hit hard shots, but I can sometimes make awesome soft ones or angles. It’s just enough to make me enjoy the game, lol.

I love your site, it’s so interesting and colorful. I’ve added both your posts and comments to my feed reader, and I look forward to seeing more from you.

Hi there, Rebecca! Thanks for checking out my site. I know what you mean about hitting the hard shots. This is especially true when the ball is right next to the pocket just ready to be knocked in. Instead, what happens is that the ball goes either left or right and stays on the table which can be frustrating. I especially enjoy shooting pool as I find it a very relaxing activity where it’s not too physical. I do have a post on how to control your pool shots that involves hand positioning you might be interested in. Feel free to check it out as I hope it can help you out.

I look forward to seeing your feed reader. You have a great weekend and take care.

    Hi Armand,
I am fairly new, but wanted to say I was intrigued and read several posts on games especially billiards. My father came from the great generation they say, and I learned more about billiards from my father through his many retirement years. He was a master on cushion shots, and many times I watched in awe while he took other retired men and ran the table. Afterwards he had stories during the depression how he and his mom stayed away from the soup lines by his mastery in Billiards. Very humble man, yet he enjoyed showing my brothers and I the art.
Another game was checkers. He played checkers in a way that no one in our family could take him. Even when he was terminally ill he would continue to win, but one day I did!

That day I felt he just let me win, to pass on his legacy of winning at the game. No one wins including my family who challenge me always. LOL! Maybe someday I will let them win one to pass it on.
Take care and keep up the good work.

Hi there, William! I would like to say thanks for stopping by and sharing your story about your father. As for me, I still have problems winning billiards and checkers games from time to time. I need to practice on being patient as this would very much lead to the “mastery” of the sport. Thus, becoming a professional as well. That’s an amazing feat that your dad has accomplished especially winning games when he’s sick. I am in awe by you mentioning that. Maybe one day we can get a game of billiards. We’ll see who’s the best of the best! Hehe, joking aside, let’s just have a friendly game.

I’ll continue to provide as much relevant info on my site. I look forward to hearing from you again. Thanks again for stopping by. Cheers!

    Hi Armand,
You have a great site here. I love to shoot pool but have not been able to for some time. Back in college days my buddies and I would go to this old pool hall called “Snooks” and play. Most of the players were old guys. They still had spittoons. The tables were true and had live bumpers.
My second cousin, Harold Worst, was the 3 cushion billiards world champion for 10 years. I found him playing 9 ball against Boston Shorty on Utube. He won. He died of cancer at an early age. I had 3 uncles that were good enough to play with him.

The skill that he had did not filter down to me as I am just an average guy that likes to play. My parents bought a slate table when I was in college to keep me off the streets. Some times it worked LOL.
Keep up the good work as I am interested in some of the other games you are sharing also.

    Best regards,
    Marty

Thanks so much, Marty! I really appreciate that you have stopped by to check out my site. I just thought that I would say that I have never seen spittons being used by anyone at any time. Maybe I have been going during the wrong times or the wrong places. Hopefully, you had a lot of fun playing at Snooks. I would also offer my condolences to your cousin, Harold. I am hoping he’s in a much better place and would say that was quite a feat for having been a cushion billiard champion for that amount of time.

Once again, thanks so much for leaving a comment. I’ll do my best in providing the best possible products when it comes to billiards and games. I look forward to hearing from you again. Stay tuned…

      Cheers!

    Great site. Love it!
One of the best sites, if not the best, I’ve seen about billiards!
I too love to play billiards.
Unfortunately there are less and less places to go to with your friend to enjoy the game.

Hi Eric! I’m kind of hoping that the billiards scene is going to make a comeback whether it’s if it’s in bars or people’s homes or wherever billiards can be played. And, no, I’m not talking about playing billiards on a computer screen or tablet. I’m referring to playing billiards where you’re actually trying to make bank shots using actual eye and hand coordination. I would like to thank you for stopping by this site. Feel free to drop by anytime, and I’ll try my best to help you out in any way I can in regards to billiards or any form of gaming. I look forward to hearing from you again. Cheers!
