Here’s a playing set that you can play in either the garage, backyard (provided you have a lot of space), driveway or on the street. It’s called the Deluxe Folding Hockey Goal Set by Mylec. This goal set is, as the title says, foldable so you can put in a safe place in your garage, shed, or basement for easy storage without taking up too much space as compared to a non-foldable hockey set.
If you enjoy playing hockey, or if you know anyone that does and either you or they:
- don’t have the room and financial resources to set up a hockey rink in the back yard;
- can’t afford the cost of ice time at the local rink; and
- can’t afford hundreds of dollars worth of equipment
Then, this item would be suitable for you or someone you know, and it will provide hours of fun and enjoyment.
Product Description
The durable PVC tubing creates a sturdy frame, while the sleeve netting systems assembles in just minutes for quick play, anytime. This hockey set comes complete with two 43-inch street hockey sticks and blade combos and one ball. Goal folds for easy, efficient storage.
This hockey set without the ice was a pretty revolutionary shot attempt, and some might even say it was a crazy idea over 40 years ago, but nevertheless a man named Raymond W. Leclerc pressed on. With 20 years of toy manufacturing experience and a lifetime love of all-things hockey, this proud creator developed the street hockey concept that’s so incredibly popular today. In 1970, he launched the Mylec Corporation and became a pioneer.

This seems like it could be an ideal present for my nephew who is going through a sports faze at the moment. Perhaps it will be a good Xmass present for him.
My only concern is the hockey ball hitting cars or windows in the street he and his mates would be playing in.
Your article describes the hockey ball as a ‘no-bounce hockey ball.’ It sounds like it will easily put a window through.
What do you think? Is it a neighbor-friendly kids toy? His mum does not have a big enough garden for its use, so the street is where he would have to play with it.

Hi James! I would like to thank you for commenting on this post. Yes, I agree that this would make a good Xmas gift. Not to mention, it would also make a great birthday gift. To answer your question, this youth hockey set is made for children ages 4-12 as the hockey sticks are quite small. The ball is neighbor friendly as well. So, I hope this helps. If you have any more questions feel free to send a reply, and I’ll do my best to touch base with you with any information I can provide. Thanks for stopping by!

Hey thanks for the article,
I was looking up street hockey and I came by this, and does it bring up some good times as a youth!
This looks like an excellent setup and a fun activity for me and my younger brothers.
Now it’s time to find a pair of roller blades that fit!
Thanks
