Cheap Cue Sticks

Are you looking for cheap cue sticks to play 8-ball/9-ball/snooker, etc. with? Well what I have here is something youmizerak-cue can use without having to pay top dollar. It’s called the Mizerak Shorty Cue (1 Piece), 40″ by Escalade Sports.

I have done a review in an earlier post on a set of cue sticks that you can check out. It is geared mostly towards professional people that want to play with an edge. Also, it’s made for players who play pool quite regularly. But, for this post, I’ll cover a cheaper version especially for people who don’t play pool too often, yet it’s made of high quality.

I found this cue stick on Amazon which sells for $9.99. This is the cheapest that I found and has the highest rating from customers who purchased this.

Reviews

As stated earlier, I found this product on Amazon where it received a rating of 3.9 stars out of 5. Since it’s a cheap kind of cue stick, I would say that it’s a worthy purchase. There were also 41 customers who purchased this.

To state a couple of positive reviews, one satisfied customer said, “Great for Kids; Suitable for Adults.”

Another positive reviewer said, “Nice and small to fit into corners when larger stick just can’t do the job.”

As for critical reviews, one unsatisfied customer stated, “The stick was obviously warped when I received it.”

To add a second critical review, another unsatisfied customer said, “Pool stick held together by WEAK WOOD.”

The negative reviews were replied by Mizerak who asked these customers to contact them to address the issues. If, for any reason you have purchased this or any product from Mizerak, you can get an exchange or refund provided that you show proof by taking a picture of the defected product and filling out a claim form.

This Mizerak shorty cue looks very similar to the cues we had where space was tight and they were in one piece too.
Sounds ideal for home use where purchasing a more expensive cue isn’t ideal as they’re too long preventing playing as a wall is usually in the way.
Sounds like a great cue for starting out in my view, cheap, yes but there’s no point in spending too much when your just getting rolling in the snooker world.
    Thanks,
    Simon.

Thanks for commenting, Simon. I guess you’re right about playing this on a snooker game/table. If someone were to read this and considering a cue stick to start off with, I thought this would be the type of item to begin with. Maybe I’ll try and find a lower budget type of billiard table as well, and hopefully this cue stick would make a good addition to that (hopefully reviewed) pool table. Good observation.

      Cheers!

After reading some of the pros and cons, I can’t help but wonder why there are any cons in the first place. i mean, come on – 10 bucks for a pool cue. If it’s warped, just send it back.

Despite the negative reviews, I’d buy a few if I had a home pool table just to have extra cues in case a few friends stop buy and you end up in a doubles match. I don’t think I’d take a 10 dollar stick to a billiard hall where the good players hang out. Even a $200 stick would be considered low- end to some of those guys.

Bottom line, if you purchase a Mizerak Shorty Cue, and practice with it often enough, there’s no reason it can’t be your go-to cue. I say go for it!

Hi Hal! Thanks for the comment on this post. Yes, it’s hard to imagine that there’s a cheap cue that’s being reviewed negatively. I feel that everyone wants a cheap product that would work professionally right off the bat. Well, I’ve tried to find the best and most affordable cue stick, and I found this one.

You’re right in saying that since it is $10, then why not buy and test it out? Oh well, I feel that I can’t please everyone. I look forward to hearing your experience with this cue if you decide to get one. Thanks for stopping by!
