NFL Wilson Football

In tying in with my last review on the flag football set, I am going to add a football that you can use to play the set with. This football is by Wilson which is company that is being used in the NFL called the NFL MVP Football.

I found this on Amazon, and the kind of football that I am promoting here is the official size that’s suitable for all ages. There are two more sizes that you can also choose from: Pee Wee and Junior.

About the football

When playing this kind of football whether if it’s flag football or gridiron, here’s what this kind of ball entails:

  • Official size and weight
  • Tackified for a surer grip with a multi-layered lining for better shape and durability
  • 3-ply bladder for better air retention and moisture control
  • Wilson and NFL logo on football
  • Product Dimensions: 6.8 x 11.5 x 6.5 inches ; 1.4 pounds
  • Shipping Weight: 1.2 pounds
Domestic Shipping: Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S. and to Army Post Office/Fleet Post Office (APO/FPO) addresses. For APO/FPO shipments, please check with the manufacturer regarding warranty and support issues.
  • International Shipping: This item can be shipped to select countries outside of the U.S.
  • Amazon Standard International Number (ASIN): B000FADVPQ
  • Item model number: WTF1415

Another thing to point out is that this Wilson football features exclusive Wilson tackified PVC material with deeper pebble and firmer texture and a multi-layered lining for better shape and durability. The 3-ply bladder also provides better air retention and moisture control.

Reviews

As with all my product reviews I always try to put the best promote on this site. As far as the rating of this football is concerned, it received a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. It has been reviewed by 823 mostly satisfied customers as of this posting. One reviewer stated, “Quality construction, easy to throw and catch.”

Another reviewer stated, “I think it’s a great football for the price. It’s a good size, has good texture, and looks fantastic.”

I have used a football similar to this. The only difference is that it wasn’t a Wilson brand, and it was a quality football that lasted for years. I misplaced it somewhere, and it was lost forever. If anything, I would definitely recommend this football.

As far as drawbacks to getting this football, most of the critical reviews stated the football in saying, “It’s slick.” If you aren’t satisfied for whatever reason, Wilson offers returns on most items within 30 days of receipt of shipment.

Hi Renan! Thanks for commenting on this review. I do hope that this football will engage your kids to enjoy playing football. Your question relating to the term “gridiron” is quite an interesting one. I looked it up on Wikipedia, and found that the term is still being used from the late 1910s to the early 1920s. The only difference is that ONLY THE WORD is still being used today, just how the play on the field is. So, in other words, yards is still used. Gridiron and yards can be used interchageably. Hope this helps.

    Armand,
I think this football would be great for anyone who plays a lot because of it’s durability. It is so much better than getting an official leather football and playing like I have before and ruined it. Thank you for the insight and I will definitely keep this ball on my play list.
