The Art of Racking (Revisited)

How to Properly Rack in Billiards
How to Properly Rack in Billiards

Hi there! In a post that I have done 2 years ago on how to rack the balls while playing 8-ball, I showed a video that shows precisely how this is done. Also, in that post I showed an image of the racked balls that’s already in place.

In this post, I would like to add the image that you see to the right that I feel is more suitable for that post instead. I found this on Pinterest where it goes into detail on how to properly rack both 8- or 9-ball. What you see is the dot on the felt of the table where the 1 ball is supposed to be on before the rack is to be broken. Once that is done, it’s gametime.

Anyhow, I just thought I’d share this. It’s not much, but I hope that this post makes that earlier post clearer to understand and that you find this helpful too. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you again in another post. Cheers!

    Hi Armand,

    Great explanation!
My husband loves billard, and he plays quite often with his friends. Today he wants to buy a billiard table so he can play with the children too:) I think he told me that he has a problem raking the balls. So I will show him this article, I am sure he will find it very useful. Just a question, please. Would you suggest buying a billiard table online or offline?

Thank you for this excellent post!

Hello Daniella! Thanks for dropping by! I feel that your husband can benefit from this article as this is a helpful guide to racking the billiards balls. To answer your question on whether to buy a billiard table either offline or online is a matter of preference. Personally, I would like the look and feel of a table before I buy. On the flip side, there are times that I would also like to hear testimonials from other customers to indicate if the table is worth buying. I hope this helps. I have a pool table that I have done a review on that you might be interested in. I look forward to hearing from you again. Cheers!

      Armand
