jumpshots and or the ball leaving the table surface at all is illegal and both incur the same 2 ball penalty.

Unless you’re making rules on how to play, then yes there are penalties. However, jumpshots are perfectly legal and the ball leaving the table only results in that ball being placed in the middle of the table. There are no penalties in either scenario.

My thoughts are that I am more comfortable playing on a rectangle pool table. I also find it more challenging as well since it is longer and it may require to stretch or use a bridge stick. Though I do like variety, I would occasionally play on an octagon pool table from time to time. But, I do know that different strokes apply to different folks where there are some people who enjoy playing on a bumper pool table let alone an octagon bumper pool table. I’m curious to know as to what your thoughts are on a rectangle vs. octagon pool table?

Hello Mike. I would like to say thanks for commenting on this post. Yes, at first glance the bumper pool table can seem funny or odd as it really looks different from a traditional billiards table. If you want to read a review about the table itself that you can check it out by clicking here. I will add another “odd” bumper pool table in the future.

      Cheers!

    Hi Armand,

Nice vid, love the part about making an impression on ladies – it’s what I often did when I played eight-ball in my university days 🙂

I’ve never tried bumper pool and never seen such tables anywhere, but the game looks really interesting. I always dreamed of having my own billiards room sometime in the future – bumper pool table will fit nicely in there 🙂 .

Thank you for the comment, Dmitriy! I am curious, just how good were you at in impressing the ladies? I would like to know your skill, and maybe I can make an impression too…tsk!

Haha, anyhow I feel a bumper pool table would definitely make a great addition to a game room as you’ll have a rare form of billiards that you can play. I hope to hear some good experiences if or when you decide to get this.

      Cheers!

      Armand
